Client reporting dashboard examples

A good client dashboard answers three questions fast: how are we doing, what changed, and what needs attention. Here is what to put on it.

The short version

  • Headline numbers first
  • One trend chart
  • One breakdown
  • A short list of what needs attention

What should a client reporting dashboard include?

A few headline number cards, a trend over time, a breakdown by the category the client cares about, and a list of what is open or needs action. Keep it to one screen.

What does a good monthly client report look like?

The same dashboard, filtered to the month, with a short note on what changed. A downloadable PDF works well for meetings.

How many charts is too many?

If the client cannot say what the dashboard is telling them in ten seconds, there are too many. Start with four to six widgets.
